English Description

An interesting pair of vintage American cufflinks made with genuine U.S. Buffalo Nickel / Indian Head Nickel coins.

The Buffalo Nickel was issued by the United States between 1913 and 1938 and remains one of the most recognizable American coin designs of the early 20th century.

Each cufflink incorporates an authentic U.S. five-cent coin mounted in a round metal setting.

The visible coin faces feature the famous Indian Head portrait and LIBERTY inscription, while the original reverse of this coin type depicts an American bison with the denomination FIVE CENTS.

The Buffalo Nickel

The Buffalo Nickel was designed by American sculptor James Earle Fraser and first issued in 1913.

Its Native American portrait and American bison imagery became iconic symbols of American numismatic design and were later widely used in vintage coin jewellery and men’s accessories.

Because the coins have been incorporated into cufflinks and the dates are not clearly visible, no specific coin dates are claimed for this pair.
