Operation Entebbe Medal 1976 – Bronze

Official medal commemorating Operation Jonathan (Operation Entebbe) – the daring rescue operation of the hijacked Air France plane passengers at Entebbe Airport in Uganda, July 4, 1976 (6th of Tammuz 5736). The operation was named after the force commander, Lieutenant Colonel Yonatan (Yoni) Netanyahu z"l, who fell in the operation.

One side: Air Force plane, olive branch and Star of David, with the inscription "מבצע יונתן / OPERATION JONATHAN / 4TH JULY 1976".

Other side: The verse from Psalms 18:17 – "ישלח ממרום יקחני, ימשני ממים רבים" (HE SENT FROM ABOVE... AND TOOK ME).
