A fascinating set of four provisional banknotes ("Kuponi") from the Republic of Georgia, issued in 1993 shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union. The Kuponi was introduced as a transitional currency during a period of hyperinflation and was later replaced by the Georgian Lari. All notes in this series share the exact same design on both the front and back, differing only in color and denomination.

Common Design for All Notes:

• Obverse (Front): Features a beautiful panoramic view of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi. The illustration includes the Old City, the Tbilisi TV Broadcasting Tower on the mountaintop, and the famous equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali (founder of the city) overlooking the Kura River. The denomination is stylized in a square geometric frame.

• Reverse (Back): Showcases a striking illustration of the historic Vardzia cave complex – a 12th-century cave city excavated from the slopes of the Erusheti Mountain, a highly significant Georgian cultural and national symbol.
