Description (English): A spectacular modern banknote from the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a denomination of 20,000 Rials. In this new series note, the number "2" is prominently highlighted while the zeros are faded, reflecting Iran's gradual transition to the "Toman" currency system (1 Toman = 10,000 Rials). The obverse features the portrait of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. The reverse displays the iconic "Tomb of Poets" (Maqbaratoshoara) monument in the city of Tabriz, the resting place of prominent historical Iranian poets, mystics, and scholars, alongside elegant Persian calligraphy.
