Tiberias Medal – Tiberias Coin 101 CE, Bronze
Bronze medal dedicated to the city of Tiberias - one of a series showcasing cities in the Land of Israel alongside their ancient currency.
One Side: Relief of a fisherman pulling a net from the Sea of Galilee and a woman carrying a basket of fish on her head, against a background of a sailboat and a domed building. Above them, the inscription "Tiberias," and below, "TIBERIAS."
The Other Side: In the center, within a circular depression, an enlarged replica of a Tiberias coin from 101 CE: a figure seated on a rock holding a snake, surrounded by Greek inscription. On the medal's rim: "Tiberias Coin" with the Hebrew year, and in Latin "COIN OF TIBERIAS 101."
Material: Bronze. Condition: Well-preserved, natural patina, sharp reliefs, and fully legible inscriptions.
