Original coin from the period of the British Mandate in Palestine, with a face value of 5 mils, from 1927 – the first year of issue for Mandate coins. A perforated coin with a hole in its center.
Obverse: The central hole, surrounded by the value 5 and the inscription MILS in the three official languages – English, Hebrew, and Arabic.
Reverse: A wreath of leaves around the hole, and around it the name of the land in three languages – PALESTINE in English, Palestine (E.I.) in Hebrew, and Arabic. At the bottom, the year of issue 1927 in Western numerals and below it the same year in Arabic numerals.
The 1927 coins are the first year of issue for the Palestinian currency. An original item in preserved condition, as shown in the images.
